About me

An award-winning designer and creative digital specialist with a passion for art, tech, design leadership, and crafting experiences.

Originally from ‘up north’ Dean Pomfrett graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts in 1999. A Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in Design. Studies in archaeology, anthropology, and art history. Dean was an early player in user experience, digital design, and branding for the connected world, “For me, my first internet experience was my first day at work”.

With 20+ years of experience working in New Zealand’s design, tech, and advertising world, Dean is currently at DDB Aotearoa as Head of Design. 

A multidisciplinary designer, he ‘nerds out’ on design, art and creativity.
A creative practicing UI & UX leadership, art direction, tech innovation, and branding.

While not working he loves spending time with family, friends, gardening, travel, red wine & good eats, friends, family, pets and diving down musical rabbit holes.
